London's Oyster Cards

Technology is wonderful, but soulless! Twenty years or so ago, when I was able to travel to London frequently, each Underground station would sell it's own pasteboard tickets, and each would have their name on them. They make fun souvenirs.

Cursed Stone Souvenirs

In addition, just as a general rule of thumb, don't take loose stones from ruined castle sites in England, or from Hadrian's wall, or from ruined buildings or sites in any place you travel! You may think you're just one person who does it, but if everyone does it, pretty soon nothing will be left of the site. This problem is most egregious with scuba divers, pilfering items from World War II wrecks.

Window or aisle?

I always try for a window seat, because the only way I can sleep is leaning against the window. I've never been able to sleep by sitting upright. And fortunately, whether because of tenseness or just general cussedness, I never have to go to the bathroom, even on long flights!
