Unique places to Stay in Italy

How about staying in a convent or a monastery? That’s certainly something that most people haven’t done, and most people don’t even know that it’s possible. Staying in a monastery or convent is usually cheaper than staying at a hotel or B&B and it is a much more unique and memorable experience. The monastery is usually housed in some kind of historical building, so it’s yet another way to steep yourself in Italian culture. You don’t have to be religious to stay in a convent or monastery. All you have to do is be respectful and abide by their rules, which usually involves a curfew (often between 10-11pm). There are some pretty nice accommodations to be had at monasteries. Many of them serve breakfast and dinner also, allowing you a chance to dine with the other guests and meet interesting people from all around the world.
