Did you know you could explore a large section of downtown Toronto and never actually go outside? Definitely an asset if it happens to rain while you are visiting Toronto.

The P.A.T.H is a system of underground shopping and walking complexes that links more than 50 office buildings, 5 subway stations and has more than 1,000 shops and services.

The four-colored P.A.T.H sign lets pedestrians find more than 125 access points up on the ground level. Though the underground routes are fairly well marked, they can be confusing because they don't follow the same grid as the roads above. And without being able to see your usual outside landmarks, it's very easy to get lost.

Most historical "pioneer villages" are outside any major city, and can be difficult to visit if you don't have your own rental car. That won't be a problem in Toronto though. The Black Creek Pioneer Village is actually right within the city, and you can hop on the bus to take you there.

It's definitely a nice change of pace from the busy Toronto lifestyle. There are 35 buildings and it's filled with people all playing the roles of true pioneers. There are events and demonstrations going on all the time, so check their schedule so you go on the best day. And don't miss a tour of the brewery (and the samples!).

There is a fee to enter the park, and its usually closed during the winter months. It may seem like a bit of a dull place to visit, but most people who go are very impressed with the experience.

For the best view of the city, head up the CN Tower. Not only can you walk around the viewing deck and see for miles, there is a restaurant on the upper level that rotates.

It's not so fast that you are going to get sick while eating, it's just enough to be noticeable. By the time you are finished your meal, you will have gone around one full circle and seen the lake as well as the city.

The menu is great, but the prices are a little high. You can't beat the atmosphere though.
