Nobody needs to be told that the main attraction at Niagara Falls is the thundering waterfalls. They're fantastic and a wonderful sight any time of the year. But you might be in for a bit of a shock when you visit Niagara, if you are expecting an out-in-the-wilderness location.
Quite the contrary, especially if you are visiting on the Canadian side. Niagara Falls is a loud, busy, bright and completely campy tourist destination. There is a major casino within walking distance of the falls, and tons of fun up Clifton Hill (also within easy walking distance). Clifton Hill is lined with restaurants, hotels, haunted fun houses, strange museums, arcade games and amusement rides. One of the best known spots is the Guinness World Records museum.
