Planning on being in Spain for the last Wednesday in August? Well, if you like to take part in one-of-a-kind events, then mark that day on your calendar. In the town of Bunol, the Tomatina is a wild tomato-throwing food-fight that thousands of people take part in.

By the time the frenzy is over, more than 100 tons of tomatoes will have been thrown, squashed and trampled. Not quite as thrilling as the running of the bulls, but I don't think anyone has died from getting hit with an over-ripe tomato either.
