A webcam can really get the most out of your free VOIP and Skype phone calls. You can see who you are speaking to (if your caller has a webcam of course) and they can see you.

You can even give family and friends a tour of where you are staying via the webcam and of course you can show off your great suntan!

Although there are plenty of free WiFi locations in the USA and Europe at most hotel chains, McDonalds and coffee shops such as Starbucks, but in some more primitive places such as South America it is more difficult.

A WiFi signal locator is the answer. Hang it on your keyring and when you need to use the internet or make a phone call via Skype, just press the button and it will locate any and all signals in the area.

No matter how long or short your trip, there is no excuse for not staying in touch with home and family. Emails are a great way to send and receive communications, especially when you are in totally different time zones.

Skype is completely free and uses the internet for telephone communications. Register free and get members of your family to do so too. You can then make and receive FREE Skype to Skype calls. You can also buy a roaming Skype handset which will make and receive FREE Skype calls too, without the need for a computer, whenever you are in an unlocked WiFi zone.

If someone has a birthday or celebration it is really difficult to send a greeting card when you are traveling. You need to find a shop, find your friend's address, buy a stamp and mail the thing, all about 2 weeks before the big date.

Logon to hallmark.com and send a FREE E-card straight to your friend's inbox. There is a fair choice of free cards, or you can spend a buck or two on a wider selection. You can even select the date of delivery.
