If you see the familiar golden arches while on vacation, don't be shocked if the food inside isn't quite as familiar. In many countries around the world, McDonald's restaurants have very unique menu items to cater to the local cuisine. Sometimes, these are extra items in addition to all your favorites. But in some countries, the food you would find in the USA is nowhere to be found.
In India, there won't be any beef or pork products. They have a chicken version of the Big Mac, called the Maharaja Mac. You can get a kosher McShawarma in Isreal, and shrimp nuggets in Japan. In fact, nearly every country where you can find McDonald's will have some kind of variation to their menu.
