Unfortunately travel insurance premiums often double when travelers reach the age of 65. Travel insurance companies will not cover pre-existing conditions and it can be really difficult to find cover for trips lasting several months. The answer is to try one of the companies that specialize in retiree programs such as AARP in America, or SAGA in the UK.
