Flying is not the most comfortable venture. Many times, you are on a crowded plane with annoying people. In addition, the best laid plans often go awry. Planning ahead means you will be prepared for the aggravation and boredom of flying.

Sure, some flights offer films, but you may have seen the flick already, so what are you to do? Bringing a book is a good choice, but not if there is a crying baby or an annoying child on board. Bringing an ipod is a wonderful way to tune out the noise. You could also bring a portable game console, such as a Nintendo DS or a PSP, or a portable DVD player.

Always bring snacks on board. You never know when the airline will run out of food. Bringing snacks ensures you don’t go hungry. Bringing bottled water, granola bars, juice boxes, an apple, an orange, chips, and/ or snack nuts can alleviate in-flight hunger.

Baby wipes or wet naps are an excellent thing to bring too. You can clean up messes easily. They can also be used to freshen up during the flight. It would be wise to bring lotion as well; it gets dry when you fly.

Dress in layers. This way, if you get hot, you can take something off. If you get cold, you can put it back on. You never know what the temperature will be on an aircraft.
